kinetic sculpture, glass, steel, ignition needles, dc motors

Mounted on a structure that resembles a music box, two ignition needles rotate around their own axes. As they move near each other, electric arcs form between their tips – like lightning connecting the points. These discharges transform in shape until the rotation draws the needles too far apart to maintain the connection. The sculpture creates its own rhythm through this cycle, each discharge producing a sound that marks time through electricity rather than mechanics.
